I was looking for career growth and tried to venture into something current and new. Learning AI has definitely been exciting and challenging as I realised the importance of AI to the communities.
Through the 2 months program, I have gone through fun, exciting and challenging lessons and the group capstone project. With the help of the instructors, I have gained exposure on how the real industry is going to look like with the skills that I have learned in this program.
During these 2 months, I’ve worked on a Personal Professional Equipment (PPE) detector that was designed to detect if construction workers were wearing safety helmets in a construction site with my groupmates. The problem in the heavy industry was always about safety as it was hard to monitor construction workers to follow PPE rules all the time.I believe that PPE is very important in the heavy industry and workers are required to wear them all the time. With our design, it can detect if construction workers were practicing PPE rules at all times, hoping that it will reduce the risk of accidents and injuries in the heavy industry.
Today, I am a Junior AI Engineer at Skymind. My work involves researching and developing existing computer vision algorithms, creating new algorithms from the ground up to solve new and real problems. I look forward to apply AI in solving real life problems.
