Things I learned from undergraduate studies were very basic and emphasised more on theoretical knowledge. I found it is very difficult to relate to real applications. After finishing my studies, I aim to explore various deployments of AI models in embedded devices, mobile phones and robotics. To achieve this, I need to learn lots of new things, upskill my current skill and network with experts in the industry.
I did research a lot about AI and I think it affected the algorithm behind my Instagram’s system where my account starts to show advertisements about AI material. From this, I found Forward School and I saw that they were running some programmes about demanding technology.
I found out about the CDLE course, a collaboration between Skymind and Forward School. Best of all, the course was offered in part-time mode. I choose Forward School because the period is flexible with my schedule.

I worked on a Covid-19 Identifier with my groupmate for my capstone project as it is related to the current issues that we are currently grappling with. We aimed to build an automated system which can give fast and accurate results for diagnosing COVID-19.
The cool part during the 2 months study is when the lessons keep giving useful inputs, it pushes you to fall in love with AI even more with the practical skills offered and taught by the instructors.
Today, I am a Junior AI engineer at Skymind. I believe that with the skills that I have obtained through this course, I may contribute back to my community through my ideas and inventions.
